Straight Talk and No Contracts

This post brought to you by Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.

For years people have thought that the only way to get a good cell phone, save money, and get reliable service is by getting service with a contract. That could not be further from the truth! Honestly, I loved my old cell phone company with a contract until we moved. That is when I learned how bad being stuck in a contract can be.

A few years ago we moved across the country and found out that they did not have access to local numbers but they would not let us out of our contract because there was still service in the area. I found it very irritating that some people would have to pay long distance to call our phones but at that point at least they worked!

A year later, James was transferred at work again but this time our cell phone company had a local number. It was fantastic for 2 months so we got new phones and time was added to our contract. Then to our surprise, a cell phone tower near our house was moved and we had to go outside to get even a little bit of a signal. Once again we were told that we could not get out of our contract. This time it was because a technician was able to get a signal in our driveway.

For a year we paid a ton of money for 4 phones on a family plan even though we barely got to use our phones. It was either that or pay $200 per phone to get out of the contract! That is when I started researching cell phone providers in our area and switched to a company without contracts.

If you are sick of cell phone contracts, Straight Talk is one of the companies you really should check out. They have everything you need from smart phones to an unlimited service plan. You can buy a touch screen phone that can run great apps and then get a plan with unlimited calls, text, picture messaging, and web for only $45 a month or $499 for a year.

Straight Talk also has an International Long Distance Service Plan so you can call a friend from anywhere! No contract phones have caught me hook, line and sinker.
