I don’t know why I do not make this recipe more often! I always forget about it until I have a pile of apples that no one wants to eat any more. My family either gets sick of eating apples or the apples are not as crunchy any more so they won’t eat them. As much as my family loves this recipe, I really should make it more often!
Are companies using Twitter to it’s full potential? Most companies do not understand how to use Twitter as a marketing tool. Twitter is full of people that want to talk about what they just bought, where they just went, and if they had a good or bad experience. There are just as many people that want to hear all about it. So why aren’t more companies becoming active on Twitter?
If you have been visiting us for awhile you have probably heard all about our awesome Peanut Butter Playdough. It is a huge hit with kids and adults alike! Kids love playing with their food, and let’s face it, some kids eat their playdough already even if it is not edible!
There are many kids that can not have peanuts so I wanted to share another edible playdough recipe that will be safe for kids with peanut allergies.
I know, I know… I made all these promises that I would be better at keeping this site upto date but then I realized that I needed more than that. It just was not enough. If there is one thing that having this blog has taught me, it is that I can get way more opportunities than I ever thought that I would and I can determine my own success!!!
When I started this blog I was “just a stay at home mom”… like many of you. Don’t get me wrong… I do not look down on stay at home moms at all! In fact, I truly know first hand how hard it really is. I also know that part of the problem is how some people look down on you and how some days… you look down on yourself.
I loved being a stay at home mom but as the kids got older and went to school I felt like I needed more. I was no longer busy caring for them all day so I needed a hobby. I had my first site back when Geocities was giving everyone free websites. We had moved across the country and it was the perfect way to let people back home still keep up with what was going on in our lives. So when I thought about a new hobby it did not take long for me to realize that I would like a new site. Then my love for kids and family helped me come up with the idea for this site.
This site has given me the opportunity to meet some incredible people and make great friendships. It has also given me the chance to try out fun new products and go on amazing trips. The perks really are great! My kids love when a package is at our doorstep. It is like Christmas over and over again! The bill problem is that it made me hungry for more. I wanted to do more. I was always talking about other people’s products and other people’s businesses… but what about me!?!
I know…. SHUT UP already!!!
Sooooo long story short (or even longer), I went to school and become a Realtor®! Today is my one month anniversary and I am loving every minute of it! It was keeping me very busy though, so I was once again ignoring you wonderful people that helped me start this great journey!!!
Life is getting back to normal again though so I am back!!! AGAIN!!!
The 3rd annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day is this coming Saturday, November 10th! I really hope everyone makes a point to get out there and check out your local toy store. I don’t know about you but I find something magical about small local toy stores. They always carry the most creative and fun toys! Big box stores are good for large amounts of whatever the hot toy of the season is but my kids were never into those.
My kids liked the out of the ordinary and creative toys. When my girls were little we had a small local toy store near us that specialized in educational toys and it was our favorite place to shop. My girls knew that a trip there meant that we would leave with a huge bag of fun things to do. Some of my kids favorites were kits that taught you how to knit, make soap, make sand art, and create your own perfume. They loved the butterfly garden so much that we had to keep buying more so they could watch butterflies emerge from their cocoons over and over again. You just can’t find the same kinds of toys in a bog box store.
Shopping at locally-owned businesses is so important for our communities. Big box stores send their money back to corporate offices and who knows where else. When you spend money at a local business a large portion of that money stays right there in the community where it belongs. Instead of paying for a new corporate jet you are helping a local family provide for their kids.
If you are unsure about local toy stores that are participating in the Neighborhood Toy Store Day you can check out YourNeighborhoodToyStore.org and find an American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) member near you. Share the love and joy this holiday season by shopping local!
In celebration of National Toy Store Day, I was sent some great toys as an example of the awesome toys that can be found at local specialty toy stores. Being part of Team Mom means that I get some really hot new products to try and this time was no different. My kids LOVED them!
As soon as I opened the box my kids grabbed for the Tenzi game and wanted to play right away. They loved the fun and fast paced game. It is one of those games that puts everyone on a level playing field so even my youngest could have fun and not feel at a disadvantage. It also keeps getting played which is big! I have a closet full of games that the kids stopped liking after a few times.
The second toy I was sent is so much more than a mere toy! My kids have always loved making friendship bracelets and creating different designs. They were very excited to see that the LoopDeDoo would allow them to make friendship bracelets that look like they payed a lot for them at a store. There are so many awesome looking designs and they are super easy to make. The LoopDeDoo comes with a complete instruction book and even a DVD so there is no guess work when you are learning. My favorite parts are that it comes with everything you need to get started right away and it stores it all inside so there is no mess!
Don’t forget that the 3rd annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day is this coming Saturday, November 10th so get out there are find some awesome toys!
I don’t know about where you live, but where I live it is a very cold 50° so we are definitely in full swing soup weather! There is nothing like coming in out of the cold and curling up under a blanket with a nice hot bowl of soup. You get to warm yourself from the inside!
I think soup is the perfect lunch but you have to be very careful with calories. Not all soups are created equal! If you are not careful you could end up with as many calories as a cheese burger and twice the sodium. While creamy soups are definitely comfort food all that comfort tends to come with fat and calories.
Progresso now has light creamy soups that you can enjoy and you will not have to go back out in the cold to run off the calories! The new Progresso Light creamy soups are part of the more than 40 flavorful soups that are 100 calories or less per serving. These new soups are Weight Watchers® endorsed, have 100 calories, and a 2 PointsPlus value per serving.
The new soup comes in Creamy Potato with Bacon & Cheese and Chicken Pot Pie Style. Yep, you heard me right, bacon and cheese in a light soup! Finally, we can enjoy tasty, hearty, and CREAMY soups and not feel guilty about it or have to run to the gym afterwards. The Light Chicken Pot Pie Style has at least 33% fewer calories than regular ready-to-serve soups and the Light Creamy Potato with Bacon & Cheese has 50% fewer calories than the leading potato, cheese, and bacon ready-to serve soup.
SAVE!!! I know what you are thinking… The only thing better would be a coupon so you can try them out and save! Head on over and print your own Progresso coupon for $1.25 off the purchase of 4 cans of Progresso® soup.
One lucky reader will receive a fun Progresso Light Creamy Soup Prize Pack which includes (2) Cans of Progresso® Light creamy soup, (1) Soup mug, (1) Lunch tote, and (1) Water bottle.
Disclosure: Free products for review, coupons, information, and prize pack has been provided by Progresso® through MyBlogSpark.

We have all seen those old television shows where kids are being yelled at for playing with their food. Is that really the problem though? It is usually something gross like liver that the child is expected to eat. I won’t even eat liver! Maybe the answer is to serve foods that are healthy and fun to eat. I am all for kids playing with their food as long as it is healthy, they don’t make a mess and they actually eat the food.
I had no problem getting my kids to eat healthy until they started school. All they knew was healthy food and whole grain bread and they loved it. When they started school and got exposed to other kids they discovered processed foods and empty calories. Kids find all of that fat and sugar very hard to resist so you are forced to sneak healthy food in when ever you can.
Times may have changed since those old television shows but Wonder bread is still around. They have been a favorite for over 90 years. It is still soft and delicious but now it has over 20 varieties. Wonder bread has a new Smartwhite bread with the taste and texture kids love, but it sneaks a lot of good things in too. It has only 50 calories a slice and is not baked with high fructose corn syrup. It is also fortified with the fiber of 100% whole wheat bread, has the calcium of an 8-ounce glass of milk and is a good source of nine essential vitamins and minerals. No wonder it is called smart!
Now, even adults can play with their food thanks to The Sandwich Wonder-izer! You can create your own custom sandwich and see all of the nutritional info that goes along with it. You can either pat yourself on the back for making good choices or see all of the better options for a healthier sandwich.
My sandwich was made with Wonder Smartwhite for kids (so I could see the nutrional values), and then I added brown mustard, fat free turkey breast, turkey bacon, green lettuce, and tomatoes. That would be a fun addition to a lunchbox! Now you should head on over and create your own sandwich creation!
While you are there make sure to “Like” Wonder bread on Facebook and share your sandwich with your friends!

Mothers everywhere are struggling with potty training right now. It can be a huge headache and seem like it is the hardest thing to do as a mom. While it can seem impossible at the time, I can assure you that there are much harder things in a mother's life! Ahahahaha, there is so much to look forward too! In all seriousness though, being a mother may result in a lot of rough days but it is always worth it!
I had three girls in four years and each one had their own challenge when it came to potty training. My first daughter was the only child for 3 years so I had plenty of time to dedicate to just potty training. Being the first child also meant that we really strived to have her advance to the next stages. I bribed her with the promise of "pretty girl" panties if she stopped going in diapers and then I pretty much just annoyed her into no longer needing diapers. I spent most of the day just repeating, "Do you have to go potty?" over and over and over.
The second baby got ripped off as far as babying. She was the second child so she did not get all of the attention and then less than a year later we had another baby. We had a very crazy year after the third girl was born. Three kids 4 and under can keep a mother VERY busy! My second daughter refused to potty train until the third child started. She insisted on having everything the same as the third daughter so I had to train them both at the same time.
PULL-UPS® really saved me a lot of money during those years! Trying to potty train with regular diapers causes the diapers to fall apart since you have to keep taking them off so your child can sit on the potty. PULL-UPS® allows you to easily make trips to the bathroom without needed to waste a ton of diapers. They can also be easily ripped down the sides if there is an accident.
I love looking at all of the cool new products out there for little kids now. It is so much easier to have a baby now. My girls would have loved the new PULL-UPS® Night*Time Glow in the Dark! Pull-Ups® Night*Time helps your child get through the night with added absorbency. It helps you stay consistent with training day or night. Available in: 2T–3T 18–34lbs/8–15kg 3T–4T 32–40lbs/15–18kg They feature Cinderella for girls and Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars for boys, just like Big Kid® underwear.
Head on over and check out the Glow Show Story and create a story of your own plus enter to win a $100 Walmart gift card! Don't forget to go back for more new stories!
Use this great coupon and save $1 on your next purchase or you can save $2 by sharing it with your friends!
I have spent a lot of time lately thinking about that very question. Many times throughout your life you are reminded to be humble, but have you actually looked at what the word means?
So what is humble?
I will be using screenshots from Dictionary.com as references.
- I understand how arrogance can be annoying but do I really have to not be proud? What happened to when we were taught that we should be proud of what we have accomplished and teaching our children to be proud of their accomplishments and who they are?
- Why should I have a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, and subservience? That is total crap! No one should have to feel that way! Everyone should be able to see their worth and share it with the world!!! What happened to, “I am woman hear me roar”?
- So apparently I should see myself as low in rank, importance, status, and quality? Yeah, I don’t think so! I would never want anyone else to see me as low in importance and quality. How self damaging would it be to keep telling yourself that!?!
- Humble opinion? Why does my opinion have to be humble too? If I am right, why do I have to pretend that maybe I am not?
- Small in size… Well, I am pretty darn short, but that is not what they are getting at. I think all those motivational speakers out there would tell you that you can not be happy and see yourself as small!
Humble as a verb…
So, I am supposed to make myself humble? I have no interest in making myself less important or losing my dignity! I also would not want to lose my will or destroy my independence or power!
The whole meek part just makes me shutter! Let’s look at meek…
I will just point out the key words… Docile, submissive, compliant, spiritless, tame, OBSOLETE.
Wow, where do I sign up! That sounds like the recipe for a horribly miserable life!
Yes, I am being a little overly dramatic! Yes, everyone could probably use a little more humility. No one wants to be around someone that just wants to brag about themselves and no one should have to deal with being put down so someone else can feel better about themselves. That is about respect for others though, not humility. I think that you can be respectful of others without lowering your self worth under the guise of humility. We juggle so much every moment of our life and I think we have every right to be proud of all that we do and who we are. I also think that we should be able to want respect for all that we do. We should not have to sit back in the shadows and pretend that we are not strong and intelligent.
Okay, my rant is over! So what are your thoughts on being humble?
This is a sponsored post, I am a Kmart Layaway blogger, though all opinions are my own.
I can not believe that we are almost to October! Where has this year gone!?! Before we know it Christmas will be here and then the year will be all over.
Most years I am not in any big rush for Christmas and I get shocked by how it seems like stores start putting out Christmas displays earlier and earlier. This year, I want Christmas to hurry up and get here! Last Christmas was a very busy and stressful one so we missed out on a lot of the "magic" of Christmas. I want this yearr to be full of magic!
I have always wanted to be one of those people that has all their holiday shopping done way before the holidays but we are always running around and life is crazy so I am a big last minute shopper. I ended up blowing a ton of money all at once and that adds even more to the stress of the holidays. This year, I want to start really early so that I can spread all of that stress out over a few weeks. That will also allow me to not spend so much money all at once!
We have been in a bad economy for a long time now and many families are really struggling to make ends meet. This makes planning ahead for the holidays even more important. A few years ago Kmart brought back their layaway program for . This year they have added free layaway and Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway so you can plan ahead, make payments over time, and have a chance to win a giveaway!
Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway will be helping people pay off what they owe on layaway. One person per store will be drawn every week from 9/09/12 until 11/17/12! I would love to have all my Christmas shopping paid for wouldn't you?
Some stores only allow layaway for jewelry but Kmart's layaway program allows you a full range of merchandise. Kmart also leads the way in convenience by allowing you to order and pay online and then pick up your purchases at the store when you pay off your layaway items.
What would you put on Kmart layaway? Kmart has holiday gifts for everyone but I think I would go with redoing my girls' bedrooms for them. They have been wanting more grown up decor in their rooms and bedroom makeovers would be a great Christmas surprise gift. Kmart has some really cute bedding sets and they have everything from curtains, rugs, and lamps so I could do some awesome one stop shopping!
