As if having someone hit and total my Jeep was not bad enough, this week became even more stressful when the washing machine started acting up and the microwave died. I am so glad that it is all over and I can get rid of all of that stress!
James went to microwave something and as soon as he hit start there was a loud pop. He tried to use it anyway but it would not heat anything up. I then went into crazy Google mode and searched the internet. I found many forums that all agreed that it was a dead Magnetron. Every website agreed the part was between $60 and $80. They also agreed that it was a 2 person job that would take 2 hours… if it worked and you did not electrocute yourself. Paying someone was supposed to cost more than getting a new microwave.
We were in Madison meeting the insurance guy anyway so we also bought a new microwave. All is better now. It only took a drill, jig saw, Dremel, and a few cut up knuckles and James had it installed. I am just happy that life is almost back to normal.
